That morning started with a rough start meaning that I went to fill my car up with petrol and my card declined so my dad had to come and pay for it. Luckily he also gave me so money. Not working for a living is so painful actually working and not getting paid is even worse.
Anyway Tam and I drove to Franschhoek for the day to see the Huguenot Museum and spend so time in the village, well technically it is a small town. I love that place.
We drove straight to the Museum but sadly it only opened on a Sunday and Public Holiday from 14:00 to 15:00 pm. So it was around lunch time we drove back up the main road, parked and walked to every book shop and every chocolate shop there have. Then we found a coffee shop and had lunch and around 14:00 we walked to the Museum. This town is were my ancestors come from. In the museum there is a list of names of French people that came out from France. There were two Gabriel Le Roux and Jean Le Roux who were brothers whom came out at the same time in around the time of 1688 by ship. Escaping the French Revolution.
Before we went into the museum we went to the graveyard next door. There were so many Le Rouxs, Du Toits, Oliviers, etc. It was quite amazing. It makes me proud that I some of my ancestors are probably in this graveyard. I find it fascinating! So many names.
After the museum (well technically there are two). We decided to go and have coffee and cake for a late tea before heading back to Cape Town. I love driving long distances it an
awesome feeling of driving at 120 kilometers on a straight road.
Arrived home around 17:30 – 18:00 pm after dropping Tam off at home.
It was another adventure even it
was for a day and I cant wait to go again but this time go for longer!
