Day 3
After stay a night at the Canon Roadhouse, we headed off to Lüderitz for two nights. We drove to Keetmanshoop, then to Aus and then to Luderitz. On the way to Luderitz we stopped to see the wild horses. It was very winding on the way to Luderitz There are sand dunes on either side of the road leading to the town. A 10 km to Luderitz, there is a ghost mining town of Kolmanskop. It all began when they found diamonds here in 1908. The town declined after World War 1. It was abandoned in 1954.
We stayed in a Guest House with lots of stairs. The place had a few rooms, a shared kitchen and bathroom. It was a very nice place. That evening we went to an awesome seafood restaurant. It had amazing calamari and the beer was so cheap. The town is basically stuck 1883 colonial times.
